Different reptiles require different heat sources, lighting and environmental conditions. Instead of locking you into one system, the Rack Theory 4x2x2 gives you a flexible platform for creating a species-appropriate setup.

Any compatible heat source that requires regulation must be connected to a properly sized, reliable thermostat.
Temperatures should also be independently verified with accurate digital thermometers.
Never operate unregulated heat mats, heat tape, radiant heat panels or other regulated heating equipment.
The appropriate heating method will depend on your reptile. Species requiring overhead basking heat, UVB or other lighting should still receive that equipment regardless of whether belly heat is used.
When installing overhead heating:
UVB requirements vary by species.
Fixture strength, screen obstruction, reflector type and distance from the basking surface all affect UVB exposure.
Choose lighting based on current species-specific husbandry recommendations rather than simply selecting the highest-output bulb available.
